February Love {part two}

February 27, 2014 by JulieAnn

          When Joseph was born, I had a strong and distinct feeling that he had a very special purpose in this life.  There wasn't anything particularly remarkable about his birth (besides the fact that his was my first natural child birth and I had ...

February Love: {part one}

February 24, 2014 by JulieAnn

          I love celebrating holidays, even the ones that don't have a whole lot of historical significance and essentially exist to boost the economy.  I mean, who thought up a match-making, arrow shooting, naked cherub?             Let's just ...

Boys are gross. And sweet:).

February 12, 2014 by JulieAnn

Yesterday morning as I was saying goodbye to my grade school goers, I went to give my first grader a hug and apparently squeezed out a burp.  Right in my face.  It smelled like old milk and cereal.  But it didn't end there...ooooh no.  My reaction ...

Lessons from Mr. Happy

January 30, 2014 by JulieAnn

Emery has just begun to discover the wonderful world of the Mr. Men books by English author Roger Hargreaves...and I could not be more pleased:).  They might be my favorite series of children books ever.  Each book teaches a simple message, but with ...

Catching Up: Part Three

January 11, 2014 by JulieAnn

It has now been  five full days since I took "Christmas" down.  It took me all day.  And as usual it left me feeling dismally wistful.  However, a few years ago I discovered somewhat of an antidote for the empty feelings that tend to come directly ...

Catching Up: Part Two

January 9, 2014 by JulieAnn

The other night after the little boys were in bed, Seth, Talmage and I stayed up to watch the end of a very exciting BSC National Championship Game.  They were pretty happy with the outcome, and afterwards on Facebook Seth posted simply, "I love ...

Catching Up: Part One

January 8, 2014 by JulieAnn

As I have referenced previously, I tried something new this school year called PTA.  In the past I had always sort of given myself a pass with regards to my involvement in this organization, but this year I decided I was out of excuses and it was ...

Our Halloween In Pictures

November 8, 2013 by JulieAnn

At the beginning of this school year, as I visited each of my children's classrooms for back-to-school night, I dutifully located the parent sign-up sheets and filled my name in the slots that I felt I could reasonably manage.  Having already been ...

Oh, Wonderful October…

November 8, 2013 by JulieAnn

I love October.  It makes me happy in every way.  A chill in the air perfect for sweaters, bright, warm colors flanking the view of otherwise ordinary streets, gentle breezes making red leaves flutter past my face, that sound of golden aspens ...

Back to School {slightly delayed}

September 5, 2013 by JulieAnn

          A few weeks ago, I had a somewhat surreal experience as I pushed the stroller into a place I never imagined myself being.  An Aeropostale store.  In the mall.  With my 7th grade son and his best friend.  Oh my goodness.  Was this really ...

A Little About This Blog . . .

Faith, family life, and music constitute my happiness trifecta. I love being mom to five of the coolest boys I know, one sweet little girl, and wife to my best friend. This blog is a place for me to document the important moments of our life together as a "blended" family. I love our unique family life, I love being a mom, and I enjoy being able to share our experiences and projects with others who might somehow find a tiny bit of inspiration from our crazy little world.
